Congratulations! You’ve made it a full 25 days into 2010. This year is going to fly by even faster than last year, which is nutty, because 2009 seemed to have only lasted a few months.

Research shows that it takes most people about 21 days to establish a new habit. January was the month where we we working on making the Daily 7 a normal everyday routine. How are you doing?

Let’s use this week to catch up, because we’re going to spend the month of February PROMing the rooms and corners of your home.

Today:

Weekend Recovery. We entertained over the weekend, and I still need to shrink the table, put away chairs, and sweep the kitchen. We also fell behind on folding laundry. AGAIN.

Daily 7

Exercise! the super bowl is coming—-you know you’re going to pig out, so try to really lighten it up in the next few weeks.

yesterday: weekend stuff

tomorrow: work on birthday/anniversary list and cards

You know, you get an amazing amount of things done if you do all this everyday. You are truly my Organizing Hero! BUT, I appreciate how honest you are about not always getting it all done (as in, the laundry). Thanks for being so real and relatable!

      Hi Julie,

more often than not, I get through my list, but I don’t do it alone. The kids help a great deal, and I don’t consider my day over by 5, but before bed. It’s 6:18pm right now, and the laundry is folded (by the kids and me), but is still on the couch. The garbages aren’t empty yet, and there are dinner dishes still on the table. I don’t work non-stop throughout the day, but in bits and pieces.
Thanks for your sweet words—we all try our hardest every day.

You may have covered this before, but I would love to hear your thoughts on kids and chores and ages you have started certain ones with you kids (does that make sense?). I don’t know how old your kids are and/or if you homeschool (and might incorporate house stuff into your schooling) or not, but I’m sure you have terrific insight.
