Bathrooms are my problem area too. We have two boys (ages 18 and 9) who share one and our daughter (age 10) has her own. The boys' is in the hallway and everyone else "borrows" it because it's handy so I'm constantly wiping things down and cleaning in there, but our daughter's is connected to her room. When I glance in there it looks fine, but I took a look in her shower this morning and it was horrible. At first I was upset with her becaue she told me that she'd been keeping it clean, but I reminded myself that I can't assume that she knows how to do something if she hasn't been trained. We've done foster care for the past 10 years and she's always shared her room with older girls. I had just assumed they had shown her what to do. We have always trained by 1, doing the chore while they watch, then 2, doing it with them, then 3, watching them do the chore. We are going to start our training tonight and I will have to be deligent about checking it out.

Thanks for keeping me motivated. I'm a brand new follower, but I've started a notebook and I plan on being consistent and reflect on my actions on a regular basis.

One, I agree--I too feel like I shouldn't have to take out the trash because I'm a girl! Also, I'm looking forward to your shower challenge for tomorrow, whatever that is... I hate, repeat HATE, cleaning the shower! Ick. If you have some magical way to do this loathsome chore better than I do, then please share!

I'm so glad you're posting regularly, it's an encouragement to me to read your encouraging words! :) I've written down the Daily 7 and am trying my best. Thankfully, I already do most of them, but it's a great reminder for me everyday. Laundry is probably my toughest spot as well. That and bathrooms.

Thanks for all these tips. I started out the year with a "bit" of a heat and hot water emergency...as in I had none. It's been comforting to read your blog each day and think through your tips to get my house in order once all the plumbers finally leave and I have heat/hot water again.

On the bright side, living at the neighbors' house keeps mine clean!
