I think you're doing great, but yes, keep napping and taking care of yourself. And, who doesn't drool? I mean really. ;-) And, you are so right, things tend to work out for these kinds of projects. Maybe on one day, you might keep to your daily word count, but they might not be your best words, so writing less makes sense. Then another day, you might just go crazy with lots of words and some excellent writing.

You're not supposed to edit? I didn't know that. I'd be editing, too. I wouldn't be able to go forward unless I edited. LOL

Keep up the great work and keep your feet up! ;-)

The most important part of NaNo is taking care of yourself. That's what the community aspect is there for The first year I did NaNo I was pregnant with my 2nd daughter and was home with our first who was 15m at the time I thought I would write during her naptimes and some days I did Many days I napped too or just watched tv - occasionally through my eyelids My biggest mistake that year was thinking I could write sitting at the table I've never been able to work sitting at a table, or a desk for that matter, and being 8m pregnant it was impossible Once I found a comfy chair and a big pillow to rest the laptop I was good to go.

As for this year, last night didn't meet my word count but I'm still on track I had to go to stop because I was falling asleep while I was typing and that's just not a good sign.
