Hello! Good morning! How are you today?

I’m helping the first grade make Stone Soup today, and I’m going to take the baby.

at ten and a half months.

My hope is that she’ll just stay in the books/blocks area and I can still help the bigger kids with the cutting boards and knives. If not, I’m going to strap her in the stroller and continuously feed her pirate’s booty.

do the stuff you have to do

Yesterday you mentioned already having the potatoes peeled for your Thanksgiving dinner. They won’t turn brown? I think I heard once that they could be done early if they were kept in water. What’s your secret?

      Hi Sue,
I actually didn’t get the chance to peel potatoes yesterday. It was on the list, but we had another early-out day and I brought home two extra kids, and we had clarinet lessons.
I’ve done it in the past and just threw them in zippered bags. They did discolor on the outside a bit, but when mashed they looked fine. Melissa recommends putting them in water though—-just as you describe! I think brown or russet potatoes yellow/brown more than the red ones do.
